Northern Star Online offers a wide variety of online courses to meet the interests and requirements of online learners. Online course work offers the same rigorous, student-centered experience as on-campus course work. Online learning is flexible, allowing students to work at their own pace, place and time. For many students, online course work offers a unique opportunity to learn in a new setting and in a new way.

Northern Star Online course classes and schedules follow similar program calendars of collaborative districts with some flexibility in deadlines for completion and assessment. Most classes will meet in an asynchronous course structure, but, where possible, classes will meet once or twice a week for synchronous chat opportunities. Courses are constructed to assure genuine teaching, and various communication formats are available to students and teachers.
